उत्तराखंड में होने वाले निकाय चुनावों को लेकर सरकार के ढीलेंपन पर हाईकोर्ट ने नाराजगी जताते हुए 23 अप्रैल तक निकायों के परिसीमन की जानकारी राज्य निर्वाचन आयोग को देने के आदेश दिए हैं, और इस मामले अगली सुनवाई 24 अप्रैल को निश्चित की है।
राज्य में निकाय चुनाव की अधिसूचना जारी ना करने पर चुनाव आयोग द्वारा हाई कोर्ट में याचिका दाखिल की गई। जिसमें कहा है कि तीन मई से पहले राज्य में निकाय कराना संवैधानिक बाध्यता है , इसलिये राज्य सरकार को निर्देश दिये जाएं कि चुनाव की अधिसूचना जारी की जाए।

इस मामले में सुनवाई न्यायाधीश न्यायमूर्ति सुधांशु धूलिया की एकलपीठ में हुई। निर्वाचन आयोग के अधिवक्ता संजय भट्ट ने बताया कि कोर्ट ने परिसीमन, आरक्षण निर्धारण, मतदाता सूची आदि की मौजूदा स्थिति के अनुसार चुनाव कराने व बेवजह चुनाव न टालने को कहा है। सरकार की ओर से अदालत को बताया गया कि सरकार चुनाव को पूरी तरह तैयार है। 12 मई को चुनाव कार्यक्रम आयोग को सौंप दिया जाएगा। इससे पहले परिसीमन, आरक्षण निर्धारण व अन्य कार्य पूरे कर लिए जाएंगे।
राज्य में चुनाव की अधिसूचना जारी करने का अधिकार राज्य सरकार को है। राज्य सरकार ने चुनाव आयोग की इस याचिका का जवाब दाखिल किया था। हाईकोर्ट ने सरकार से 23 अप्रैल तक चुनाव को लेकर अंतिम रिपोर्ट भी दाखिल करने के निर्देश दिए हैं।

The Election Commission's advocate Sanjay Bhatt said that the court has asked to hold the elections according to the current situation of the delimitation, reservation of reservation, voter list etc. and not to avoid unnecessary elections. On behalf of the government the court was told that the government is fully prepared to contest elections. The election will be handed over to the Election Commission on May 12. Delimitation, reservation and other works will be completed before this.
The state government has the right to issue notification for elections in the state. The State Government had responded to the EC's petition. The High Court has directed the government to file final report on election till April 23
